We apologize for the inconvenience, but encourage you to please check back in October for more information. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

RISE Burbank

RISE is a free nine-week program that aims to inspire and empower locally based leaders from the City of Burbank. This grassroots program will broaden your understanding of the City and its resources. RISE will connect you to City of Burbank officials, as well as local nonprofits and businesses.

The mission of RISE is to broaden the understanding of the City and its resources by empowering residents, inspiring leadership, building healthier neighborhoods, and fostering constructive dialogue to invigorate civic engagement. RISE is designed to provide residents the opportunity to:

  • Become resource ambassadors;

  • Develop and strengthen leadership skills;

  • Participate in local government;

  • Enhance community knowledge; and

  • Network with other local leaders.

For more information please contact (818) 238-5300 or email at [email protected].

Class sessions are designed to develop participants’ knowledge of the community, sharpen personal leadership skills and abilities, and overall enhance the quality of life for all who live, work, and play in Burbank.

Participants will learn specific skills such as project planning and implementation, public speaking, connecting with local government, and fostering community. Participants are required to complete a volunteer/community-based group project that will make a positive contribution to the City and its neighborhoods.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Program sessions are held every Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The sessions are scheduled at various locations throughout Burbank to highlight and emphasize the subject matter for that week’s discussion. A detailed schedule is provided upon selection and light dinner is provided at all sessions. Attendance is extremely important for the success of the program and is mandatory, not optional.

After nine weeks, the program concludes with a graduation ceremony.
